Khrenin Invites Indian Observers to Military Exercises

Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin met with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh. The talks took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation defense ministers’ meeting.

According to the Belarusian ministry’s press service, the sides noted the friendly and constructive nature of relations between the countries, as well as similarities in their assessments of global developments. Khrenin and Singh summed up interim results of joint work for 2026 and emphasized the importance of striving for concrete outcomes. Proposals were also made to improve the effectiveness of cooperation in the military sphere.

“India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh noted that 10 Belarusian servicemen underwent training in India last year, and the Indian side is ready to allocate quotas for training in the coming year as well.

In turn, Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktar Khrenin highlighted the high standards of training used in India during the educational process. Belarusian servicemen undergo training in the country across a wide range of specialties”, the press service said.

Khrenin invited representatives of the Indian army to attend combat training events in Belarus as observers.
