Interior Ministry to Hold Drills With Explosions and Gunfire in Mahiliou

Belarus’ Interior Ministry will hold comprehensive command-and-staff exercises in Mahiliou today and tomorrow to test the readiness of units to operate under special conditions.

“One of the stages of the exercises will take place on the grounds of the Ice Sports Palace (1 Haharina Street). Sounds of explosions and gunfire may be heard near the facility. There is no need for concern”, the ministry said.

For the purposes of the exercises, traffic will be restricted in the following areas of Mahiliou from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 26 and 27:

• on Haharina Street (from Pushkinski Avenue to Nepakoranykh Boulevard — near the entrance to the parking area of the E-City shopping centre);
• on Dzyamyan Bedny Street (from Haharina Street to Sevastopolskaya Street);
• on Kraini Lane.
