An orange level of weather danger will remain in effect in Belarus from Saturday through Monday. The corresponding warning was issued by Belhydromet.
“On January 31 (Saturday), icy conditions will persist in the eastern part of the country, with black ice on roads. On February 1–2 (Sunday–Monday), during nighttime and morning hours across most of the country, minimum air temperatures will range from minus 25 to minus 30 degrees Celsius, and on February 2 in some areas from minus 31 to minus 33 degrees,” the warning said.
Over the next three days, weather conditions in Belarus will continue to be determined by a high-pressure area formed in an Arctic air mass. Skies will be mostly clear, with no precipitation expected.
On January 31, minimum nighttime temperatures will range from minus 18 to minus 24 degrees Celsius, in some areas from minus 25 to minus 28 degrees, and in the south from minus 14 to minus 17 degrees. Maximum daytime temperatures will range from minus 10 to minus 16 degrees, and in the northeast from minus 17 to minus 19 degrees.
