European Boxing Union Unanimously Maintains Sanctions Against Belarusian and Russian Boxers

At the annual assembly of the European Boxing Union (EBU) in Tirana, all members of the organisation’s board of directors unanimously voted to maintain sanctions against Russian and Belarusian professional boxers.

The decision was announced by Alina Shaternikova, vice president of the National Professional Boxing League of Ukraine, who represented Ukraine at the meeting.

Today at the EBU Board meeting, where I have the honor of representing our great boxing nation on behalf of the National Professional Boxing League of Ukraine 🇺🇦 all Board members UNANIMOUSLY  voted to uphold the status quo regarding sanctions against russian and belarusian professional boxing,” she wrote on Facebook.

She thanked EBU President Peter Stucki for his “unwavering position” in condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, as well as the organisation’s Secretary General Enza Jacoponi for her consistent support of Ukrainian professional boxing.
