Eighty-Eight People, Including 41 Children, Were Travelling From Rechytsa to Gelendzhik

The Rechytsa District Executive Committee has provided details about the trip during which one of the buses came under a drone strike.

The transportation was organised by private carriers registered in Rechytsa and Kalinkavichy districts. A total of 88 people, including 41 children, were travelling from Rechytsa to Gelendzhik: 28 children from Rechytsa District Youth Sports School No. 2 and 13 children from a private dance studio. Some were accompanied by their parents, while others were accompanied by adults acting under power of attorney, BelTA reported.

At about 11 a.m. on June 17, reports were received that a bus carrying 43 passengers had been damaged in a drone attack near the village of Rudnya in Russia’s Bryansk Region.

According to updated information, eight people were injured and one person was killed. A coach from the youth sports school was hospitalised in serious condition. Six children with injuries of varying severity were also admitted to hospital.

As previously reported, a bus carrying 28 children came under a drone strike in Bryansk Region on June 17. The Russian Investigative Committee said the drone was Ukrainian. The strike killed the wife of the youth sports school coach, who was accompanying the team. Eight people were injured.
