Discussion On Belarus With Tsikhanouskaya To Take Place At Munich Security Conference On Saturday

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will take part in an event at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. The discussion is titled “Belarus in Focus” and will begin at 14:30.

Alongside Tsikhanouskaya, the panel will include Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys and US Democratic Senator Peter Welch, a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. The discussion will be moderated by Gwendolyn Sasse, Director of the Centre for East European and International Studies.

This is not the only event at the conference involving representatives of Belarus. On Sunday, a panel discussion titled “In the Process of Reconstruction: A World Order for the Next Generation” will take place. It will feature journalist Hanna Liubakova, a non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council and a participant in the Munich Young Leader 2026 programme. She will be joined in the discussion by Yassamin Ansari, a member of the US House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources. The session will be moderated by Benedikt Franke, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Munich Security Conference.

Earlier today, as part of her visit to the conference, Tsikhanouskaya took part in a meeting of the Women Political Leaders network, which brings together women political leaders.
