Human rights defenders have recognized Yanina Pazniak, the daughter of journalist Kiryl Pazniak, as a political prisoner, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.
On September 4, 2025, the YouTube channel Platform 375 was designated an “extremist formation.” The KGB named journalist Kiryl Pazniak as being involved with the channel. He was detained and placed in custody.
On the same day, Pazniak’s 20-year-old daughter Yanina was detained. She has been charged with interacting with an “extremist formation.” The woman remains in custody.
“The above gives grounds to assert that the criminal prosecution of Yanina Pazniak is politically motivated and is connected with lawful activity in exercising the right to freedom of expression and the dissemination of information,” the human rights defenders said.
