The State Customs Committee reported on the results of inspections of regular buses traveling between Belarus and Lithuania.
Two passengers encountered problems because of their luggage. According to the customs authorities, both cases involved exceeding the duty-free import limits for goods.
In one case, a Belarusian citizen was carrying 35 items of clothing worth more than 9,000 rubles without declaring them. In the second case, customs officers found 27 items of clothing and footwear worth around 7,000 rubles. In both situations, the passengers failed to declare the goods when entering the country.
The current duty-free import limits are goods worth up to 500 euros and weighing no more than 25 kilograms.
The violators were held administratively liable.
