The Coordination Council of Belarus (CC) has approved Hennadz Manko as Head of the Commission on National and Regional Security, the council’s press service reported.
His candidacy was nominated by six people: Pavel Maryeŭski, Hennadz Manko, Artsiom Brukhan, Tatsyana Martynava, Alyaksandr Kamissarau and Vitaly Lakotka.
Hennadz Manko is a public and political figure. Within the Coordination Council, he represents the “Volya” faction, which focuses on supporting Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine, strengthening the силовой bloc of the democratic forces, and protecting national identity.
Thirty-five delegates took part in the vote, with quorum reached: 30 voted in favour, none against, and five abstained. Support for the candidate was distributed among factions as follows: “Latushka’s Team and the For Freedom Movement” — 11 out of 28; “Independent Belarusians” — 6 out of 8; “European Choice” — 6 out of 8; “Nastup” — 1 out of 8; “Our Cause/Belarusian Christian Democrats” — 6 out of 6; “Stop Being Afraid” — 3 out of 3; non-affiliated delegates — 2 out of 7.
