Chinese and Belarusian military personnel will jointly undergo peacekeeping training. This was announced during a meeting between Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin and his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun.
“We have actively begun cooperation in the field of peacekeeping. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude for the invitation to peacekeeping courses. We will certainly take part in them, which will allow our officers to gain valuable experience from the Chinese side in this area,” he said.
The Belarusian side, in turn, is ready to offer Chinese military personnel its educational opportunities.
“The agreements reached in June on the training of Chinese military personnel at the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus were an expression of trust and a high assessment of the military education system of the Republic of Belarus.
For our part, we are ready to expand the list of specialties in line with the specific requests of our Chinese friends,” Lieutenant General Viktar Khrenin said.
The sides also discussed the results of joint exercises and promising areas of cooperation.
“We need to unlock the potential for cooperation in new areas. The forms of armed confrontation have changed. The role of technology in the military sphere is increasing — this creates both challenges and opportunities. We can focus together on developing forces of a new quality in order to achieve further progress,” the Chinese minister said.
