A four-year-old boy died in the village of Rudnaye in the Kopyl District on March 18. The child fell into a sewer manhole located in the yard of a house.
According to the Investigative Committee of Belarus, the child was on the grounds of the home with his 2.5-year-old and six-year-old brother and sister. The mother was briefly distracted, and when she returned, she discovered that the child had disappeared. During the search, it emerged that he had fallen into a reservoir. The boy could not be saved.
An investigative task force is working at the scene of the tragedy. Investigators are carrying out an inspection with the involvement of specialists, documenting the scene and questioning witnesses.
