Bus Carrying Belarusians Involved in Crash in Poland

On Sunday morning, December 14, a traffic accident involving a passenger bus occurred at the Kuronia roundabout in Rzeszów, Poland. Emergency services received the report at around 7:30 a.m., Polskie Radio Rzeszów reported.

According to the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Rzeszów, the bus was traveling toward the city center. Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle drove through the central part of the roundabout and came to a stop on a green area.

As a result of the crash, 10 people were injured. All of them were taken to hospitals. There were 47 passengers on board the bus. Ambulance crews are working at the scene.

The bus was carrying citizens of Belarus. Emergency services do not rule out that the driver, also a Belarusian citizen, may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The bus was heading to Hungary.

At present, seven people remain in hospital undergoing examinations. Their injuries do not pose a threat to life. Both drivers, citizens of Belarus and Poland, were sober, the report says.
