Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense troops have arrived at the Russian Ashuluk training ground to take part in the second stage of an operational-tactical exercise involving live fire, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported.

The exercise involves, among others, personnel from the 115th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment and the 8th Radio Engineering Brigade. They arrived at the training ground by rail and were deployed at a field camp. Tents, a field kitchen, a dining hall, a medical station, a recreation and information room, and a sports area have been set up there.

In the coming days, the military will receive the equipment, prepare it for use and pass qualification tests to be cleared for live firing.

“Our regiment’s personnel traveled to the Russian Federation by rail. During the journey, hot meals were prepared in the carriage using a KP-125 field kitchen. In addition, the food ration was increased.

Upon arrival at the training ground, meals were prepared in the dining hall provided to us by the Russian side.

Food in this dining hall is prepared using electric boilers. In the event of an emergency related to a power outage, we are ready to switch to preparing meals using mobile field kitchens. Bakery products are delivered to the training ground from the nearest bakery. Representatives of the Russian Federation provide all possible assistance and support”, said Dzmitry Khmialyou, deputy commander for logistics and head of logistics of the 115th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, lieutenant colonel.

The operational-tactical exercise of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense troops is being held from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10. The first stage is taking place in Belarus, while the second is being held at the Ashuluk training ground in Russia. The active phase will include live firing by aviation and anti-aircraft missile units. According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, the military plans to practice new ways of employing units taking into account modern conditions of warfare, as well as improve the level of training of commanders and staffs in repelling air attacks.
