The Belarusian Finance Ministry has announced the start of the placement of government bearer bonds of the 11th and 12th issues. The bonds are denominated in U.S. dollars and are intended for individuals, both residents and non-residents. The securities will be available at Belarusbank and Belagroprombank from Sept. 10.

  • The 11th issue amounts to $23 million, with a face value of $1,000 per bond.
  • The 12th issue amounts to $27 million, with a face value of $5,000 per bond.

The remaining issue parameters are the same:

  • maturity — two years
  • interest rate — 2.7% per annum.

It should be recalled that in August, the Finance Ministry failed to place another bond issue on the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange. The auction was declared unsuccessful. Before that, the Finance Ministry had already sold two dollar-denominated government bond issues with a combined volume of $100 million. The interest rate on them was 2.9% per annum. In addition, internet bonds worth $50 million were issued for individuals.
