On February 9, officers of Poland’s Internal Security Agency detained a citizen of Belarus on suspicion of spying for Belarusian military intelligence. This was reported today by Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office.
On February 10, the detainee, Pavel T., was charged with espionage. On February 11, a court ordered his arrest for a period of three months.
According to the prosecution, the man worked for Belarusian military intelligence from June 2024 to February 2026 on the territory of Poland, Germany, and Lithuania. His task was to collect information about critical infrastructure facilities, as well as sites “of importance for the defence” of Poland and NATO.
Pavel T. was questioned as a suspect. The prosecutor’s office did not disclose his position.
The investigation is ongoing. It is noted that the detention was the result of cooperation between the Internal Security Agency and its German and Lithuanian counterparts.
