Belarusian Cigarettes Found on Two Trains in Poland

Polish customs officers intercepted two consignments of Belarusian cigarettes transported on freight trains.

At the border crossing in Semianówka, customs officers scanned a freight train and discovered 2,900 packs of cigarettes hidden in frame components of four empty wagons.

The second shipment was seized in Kuźnica. A scanner detected 2,000 packs of cigarettes in a wagon carrying Kazakh coal.

The total value of the seized cigarettes is estimated at 83,000 zlotys (22,800 dollars).

The Podlaskie Customs and Tax Office has launched an investigation into the smuggling case. Train crews have been questioned as witnesses.
