A delegation from the National Bank of Belarus is on a visit to Myanmar.
On May 28, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Aliaksandr Yahorau and Chairman of the Central Bank of Myanmar Khin Naing Oo held talks on cooperation in the field of banking services.
“The parties held frank and friendly discussions on strengthening cooperation between the two central banks. The talks focused on expanding closer engagement to deepen mutual understanding, supporting stronger cooperation in the banking sector to promote economic and trade ties between the two countries, providing support to commercial banks in both countries, and organizing joint training programs to enhance the skills of central bank staff,” Myanmar’s Ministry of Information reported.
Following the talks, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the central banks of the two countries. The sides expect the document to expand cooperation in areas such as monetary policy, macroeconomic policy and banking systems, as well as promote cooperation between commercial banks in the two countries.
