Combined reconnaissance units from Belarus and Kazakhstan destroyed a simulated enemy during practical drills at the joint “Forest Brotherhood-2026” exercise, the Belarusian Defense Ministry’s press service reported.
According to the ministry, after landing, an airborne search-and-assault group destroyed the simulated enemy’s security detail and cleared a building. Reconnaissance groups then conducted reconnaissance and carried out a diversionary maneuver using an Mi-8MTV-5 helicopter.
After an illegal armed formation camp was detected, artillery and air strikes were carried out against the identified targets. When reinforcements of the simulated enemy began approaching the area, the reconnaissance units organized an ambush and routed them.
Exercise commander Colonel Siarhei Tsimafeiau said that over several days the units had practiced cooperation and practical actions across various areas of training.
