Belarus Ready To Supply Oman With Milk And Meat In Exchange For Fish And Dates

Belarus and Oman are negotiating food supplies and the creation of joint ventures. The issue was discussed at a meeting today between Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou and Omani Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Saud Al Habsi.

The sides noted that the two countries’ economies complement each other and said this would “allow trade turnover between them to multiply in the near future”.

“The sides expressed mutual interest in food supplies: dairy and meat products, cheese and butter to Oman; fish, seafood, dates and fruit to Belarus,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry press service reported.

One of the key areas of cooperation identified was the creation of joint ventures in Oman, including for the production of baby food and powdered milk. The ministry expects Oman’s geopolitical position to allow it to be used as a platform for supplying Belarusian products to other Gulf countries and East Africa.

During the meeting, the Belarusian side presented Omani partners with Belarusian agricultural and self-propelled machinery adapted for use in Oman’s conditions, and invited them to take part in the Belagro-2026 exhibition in June.

Ryzhankou also met with Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Anwar Al Jabri.

“Alongside the organisation of direct trade in goods, the Omani side expressed interest in establishing joint industrial enterprises in the two countries. In particular, there was interest in Belarusian road and specialised machinery, trucks and firefighting equipment,” the ministry said.

The sides outlined further steps to expand the range of Belarusian products supplied to the Omani market and to third countries.
