A three-room apartment belonging to former investigator and former BYPOL initiative member Ihar Loban has been put up for auction in Hrodna, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported. He was previously sentenced in absentia in Belarus to 12 years in prison.
The property is a 68.3-square-meter three-room apartment located on Indurskae Highway. The apartment has been seized and is subject to a ban on registration-related transactions. Five people, including two minors, are registered at the address.
A Belarusian court previously sentenced Loban in absentia to 12 years in a maximum-security penal colony and imposed a fine of 200,000 Belarusian rubles. He was found guilty of “inciting hatred,” “conspiring to seize power,” and “creating an extremist formation.”
