Belarus has extended its ban on goods produced by Škoda, Nivea and Liqui Moly until the end of 2027. The decision is set out in Council of Ministers Resolution No. 782 dated Dec. 29, which was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on Tuesday.
The ban was first introduced in April 2021. Prior to that, the three companies refused to sponsor the Ice Hockey World Championship if it was held in Belarus. As a result, Minsk was stripped of the right to host the tournament. In response, the government banned the import and sale of the companies’ goods on the instructions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Since then, the restriction has been extended several times. Most recently, it had been extended until the end of 2025.
The ban covers the import and sale of goods produced by Škoda, Liqui Moly and Beiersdorf, including the brands Nivea, Eucerin, La Prairie, Labello, Hansaplast, Florena, 8X4, Skin Stories, Gammon, Tesa, Chaul, Coppertone, Hidrofugal, Stop The Water While Using Me.
