Belarus and Jordan Eliminate Double Taxation

Belarus and Jordan will cooperate in the area of eliminating double taxation. The corresponding agreement between the governments of the two countries was ratified today by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

According to his press service, the document concerns taxes on income and is aimed at preventing double taxation of residents of Belarus and Jordan. In particular, it covers income taxes, profit taxes and personal income tax.

The agreement defines the division of tax jurisdiction between the two countries in collecting such taxes and establishes mechanisms for cooperation between tax authorities.

In addition, the document provides for obligations on information exchange between the tax services of Belarus and Jordan. The authorities expect that the agreement will reduce tax barriers for businesses and simplify economic cooperation between the two countries.
