Belarusian Forestry Minister Aliaksandr Kulik met with Georgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili. The parties agreed to exchange experience in the forestry sector, the Belarusian Forestry Ministry said.
The Georgian side expressed interest in Belarusian expertise in forest nurseries and artificial reforestation. Georgia currently relies exclusively on natural forest regeneration but plans to introduce artificial reforestation methods as well. The parties also discussed opportunities in hunting tourism.
“Belarusians travel to Georgia to enjoy the seaside, while we invite Georgians to relax in our wonderful forests and appreciate their beauty,” Kulik said.
Songhulashvili invited Belarusian forestry specialists to visit Georgia and said that a Georgian forestry delegation would travel to Belarus in the near future, including to participate in events marking the 90th anniversary of the country’s forestry administration.
