Belarus Allows Businesses to Top Up E-Wallets Using Payments From Individuals

The National Bank of Belarus has amended the Rules for Electronic Money Transactions. The relevant resolution was adopted on June 25 and will enter into force after its official publication.

The amendments allow legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to top up their electronic wallets using funds received from individuals as payment for goods and services. They also introduce the possibility of redeeming electronic money by transferring funds to individuals when refunding payments for goods and services.

As the National Bank said, the changes are intended to create conditions for integrating Belarusian electronic payment systems with QR payment systems and banking infrastructure, including those of foreign banks, in order to provide individuals and businesses with convenient and accessible payment services for goods and services.
