Banks Increase Lending To Companies By 22.6% In February

In February, banks issued loans to legal entities worth 15.3 billion roubles, 1.2 billion more than in January. These figures were published by the National Bank of Belarus. Lending increased by 22.6% compared with the same month last year.

The total volume of loans issued in the first two months of the year rose by 13% compared with the same period last year to 29.42 billion roubles.

The volume of short-term lending in January-February increased by 14.5% compared with the same period last year to 25.655 billion roubles, while long-term lending rose by 4.1% to 3.76 billion roubles.

Corporate debt to banks on loans stood at 66.4 billion roubles as of March 1. Over the month, it fell by 112.4 million roubles. Compared with a year earlier, the volume of debt increased by 11.1%.

Corporate debt on short-term loans fell by 2.3% year-on-year to 28.39 billion roubles, while debt on long-term loans rose by 23.8% to 38 billion roubles.

Overdue corporate debt to banks stood at 221.7 million roubles as of March 1. It increased by 22.8 million roubles in February. Compared with March 1, 2025, overdue debt declined by 757 million roubles.
