Poland has foiled an attempted assassination of Ukrainian rapper and video blogger Kyivstoner (real name — Albert Vasyliev). RMF FM reports, citing its own sources.
According to the outlet, while the musician was in Warsaw, he may have become the target of an assassin acting on orders from Russian intelligence services. The suspect was a native of Donbas. He was detained by Warsaw police officers with the participation of Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW).
The previous day, it was reported that the alleged target may have had links to the defense industry.
Earlier, Russia’s Federal Security Service accused the musician of organizing logistics for the delivery of drones to Moscow Region. According to the Russian authorities, the drones were allegedly transported from Slovakia through Poland and Belarus and were intended for attacks on strategic facilities. Kyivstoner was added to Russia’s list of persons involved in “extremist” and “terrorist” activities.
The Kremlin claims that he cooperates with Ukrainian intelligence services. The musician denies the allegations.
Kyivstoner became known for short humorous videos on the internet and later became one of the founders of the Ukrainian group “Griby.” He subsequently launched a solo music career and, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, publicly condemned Russian aggression.
