The average monthly wage in Belarus increased by 100.6 Belarusian rubles in June to 3,104.1 Belarusian rubles before personal income tax, according to the National Statistical Committee (Belstat).
In real terms, adjusted for inflation, the nationwide average wage was 9% higher than in June last year.
In Minsk, the average monthly wage reached 4,054.4 Belarusian rubles, an increase of only 163.4 Belarusian rubles compared with the previous month. In real terms, the capital’s average wage rose by 7.2% year on year. In Minsk Region, the average monthly wage exceeded 3,000 Belarusian rubles in June. In Hrodna Region, it was above 2,800 Belarusian rubles. The lowest average wage was recorded in Mahiliou Region at 2,626.4 Belarusian rubles, representing a real year-on-year increase of 9.2%.
Employees in passenger air transport topped the wage ranking in June, with an average monthly wage of 8,039.9 Belarusian rubles. IT workers ranked second with 7,313.1 Belarusian rubles, followed by employees engaged in auxiliary activities for financial services and insurance with 7,247.5 Belarusian rubles.
According to Belstat, the lowest wages among sectors were paid to employees of hairdressing salons and beauty parlours, who earned an average of 1,766.6 Belarusian rubles in June. Employees of museums, libraries and archives earned 1,923.1 Belarusian rubles, while those working in creative activities and entertainment received 1,970.6 Belarusian rubles.
Average wages in crop production stood at 2,623.6 Belarusian rubles in June, while livestock farming employees earned 2,543.8 Belarusian rubles. In manufacturing, the average monthly wage was 3,121.7 Belarusian rubles, compared with 5,348.6 Belarusian rubles in the mining industry.
In construction, the average monthly wage before tax amounted to 4,061.2 Belarusian rubles, while employees in retail trade earned 2,459.6 Belarusian rubles.
The average monthly wage in healthcare was 2,609.4 Belarusian rubles, while in education it stood at 2,369.4 Belarusian rubles.
