Armed Forces Readiness Check to Continue Until Spring

The readiness check of the Armed Forces will continue until spring. This was stated by Alyaksandr Lukashenka at a meeting today on the establishment of an educational center for training personnel in promising areas.

Speaking about technological development, he mentioned drones, which are now being mass-produced at factories and plants.

“And not only Ukrainians and Russians, who are fighting with their help today. And they are fighting quite effectively. But also in Belarus and north of us, this stuff is being churned out from morning till night,” he said, according to his press service.

According to him, the Armed Forces readiness check is being conducted against this backdrop.

“It will take place under these serious conditions until spring,” he said.

Lukashenka also took the opportunity to once again reflect on the use of drones in Belarusian conditions.

“Will they really help us much in forested and swampy terrain? Especially forested. In the steppe or desert everything is in plain sight: you launch the ‘bird,’ find the target — attack, nothing interferes. But what about in the forest? Again, these are my reflections,” he said.

According to him, it is therefore impossible to do without traditional weapons.

“That is why I pay significant attention to the development of traditional artillery with those 152-millimeter shells and ‘Grad’ systems. You know what a ‘Grad’ is? A forty-barrel system that we produce ourselves, along with ammunition for it. Without this, it is also very difficult to manage today in the special military operation — I know this for sure,” he added.

Last week, it was announced that one of the mechanized formations had been put on alert. It was emphasized that the order had been given directly by Lukashenka, bypassing the Defense Ministry.

Today, the Defense Ministry also said that it had begun its own combat readiness check in the army.
