Apartment of Economist Daneika, Convicted in Absentia, Sold at Auction

The seized apartment of economist Pavel Daneika, who was convicted in absentia, has been sold at auction.

The apartment was put up for auction on April 23 with a starting price of 737,000 rubles, but no buyers came forward at that time. The property was offered again on June 11, with the price reduced to 589,600 rubles. Only one buyer expressed interest in the apartment. As indicated on the website of BelYurObespecheniye, the auction was formally declared unsuccessful because there was only one participant, who nevertheless agreed to purchase the property.

In February 2025, the Minsk City Court delivered its verdict against Pavel Daneika. He was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison and fined 13,000 basic units.

According to the prosecution, Daneika joined the Coordination Council in August 2020 and “as a participant, carried out active actions aimed at achieving the goals of an unconstitutional seizure of state power.”
