Anti-Drone Nets to Be Installed Along Roads Near the Belarus Border in Volyn Region

Anti-drone nets will be installed along selected stretches of roads in border communities in Ukraine’s Volyn region. The decision was announced following a working meeting at the Shatsk Settlement Council attended by acting head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Roman Romaniuk.

A significant part of the meeting focused on security issues along the border with Belarus. Romaniuk said that risks originating from the neighbouring country remain, and that the Volyn region continues to prepare systematically for any potential challenges. According to him, preparations of defensive lines in Volyn began long before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Engineering barriers have been installed and defensive positions strengthened across the region. One of the new measures will be the installation of anti-drone nets along certain road sections, including in the territory of the Shatsk community.

“We must be as prepared as possible for any development of events. Today, Volyn is one of Ukraine’s best-prepared border regions, and this work must continue.”, the website of the Shatsk settlement community quoted him as saying.
