Polish border guards prevented a car stolen in Germany from being taken to Russia.

According to the Polish Border Guard, on Sunday, September 20, officers noticed a Lexus driven by a 55-year-old Belarusian citizen who was attempting to enter Russia’s Kaliningrad Region through the Grzechotki border crossing.

During a document check, the border guards established that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Germany. They also discovered that the car’s identification number had been altered.

The driver said he was only carrying out a request from an acquaintance and was supposed to drive the car to Russia. The vehicle, valued at around €50,000, was seized.
