In April 2025, 21 cows were killed by an electric shock at an agricultural enterprise in the Lyuban district. A criminal case was opened against the company’s chief power engineer, the Minsk Region Prosecutor’s Office reports.

The investigation found that the 61-year-old defendant had failed to properly perform his duties: he did not organize the technically proper operation of the power equipment, ensure its repair or introduce technical measures to ensure safe operation.

One of the barns at a dairy farm had no residual-current device or grounding. As a result, the animals were killed by an electric shock in April 2025. The damage to the enterprise was estimated at more than 55,000 rubles.

A criminal case was opened against the chief power engineer on charges of negligence resulting in particularly large-scale damage (Part 1, Article 428 of the Criminal Code). The case has been sent to court.
