150 People Wanted in Belarus Detained in Russia Over Two Days

On April 15–16, a special operation “Search” was conducted in CIS countries, during which law enforcement agencies looked for wanted persons, missing individuals, defendants and debtors in civil and economic cases, the Belarusian Interior Ministry newspaper “Na Strazhe” reported.

As a result of the operation, more than 270 people wanted by Belarus’s Interior Ministry were detained. Of these, 150 were detained in Russia.

More than 160 missing persons were located, including more than 40 in Russia. In addition, 740 defendants and debtors in civil and economic cases were found.

In Krasnogorsk in the Moscow Region, a 59-year-old resident of Mazyr was detained for allegedly defrauding 12 residents of the Homiel Region of more than 60,000 roubles.

In Dagestan, a 46-year-old resident of Minsk was detained on suspicion of fraud amounting to at least 480,000 roubles and “extremist activity”.

In Belarus, 130 suspects were detained, and the whereabouts of six missing persons wanted by foreign states were established.

Among those detained was a 59-year-old foreign national wanted by Uzbekistan for large-scale tax evasion. In Ruzhany, a 32-year-old foreign national wanted in Russia for rape and violent sexual offences was detained.
