Poland recorded a new record for net migration in 2025, based on permanent residence figures. This is indicated by data from Statistics Poland published this week. Belarusians and Ukrainians account for the largest share of the net migration increase.
In 2025, 10,181 people left Poland for permanent residence abroad, while 21,087 people moved to the country. Net migration amounted to 10,906 people.
The largest contribution came from migration flows with Belarus and Ukraine. Five people left Poland for Belarus, while 2,849 people moved from Belarus to Poland for permanent residence. Thirty-nine people left for Ukraine, while 6,397 people arrived from the country.
A significant outflow was recorded only in the direction of Germany. Last year, 3,129 people left Poland for Germany, while 2,656 arrived from Germany.
Migration flows with the United Kingdom, once one of the main destinations for Poles leaving the country, are now in Poland’s favor. Last year, 2,247 people left for the United Kingdom, while 2,496 arrived from there.
It should be noted that Poland has recorded net migration growth since 2016.
