Zelenskyy Confirms Strike on Oil Facility in Armavir

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed a strike on a Russian oil industry facility in Armavir, in Russia’s Krasnodar region. He said the target was located 500 kilometres from Ukraine’s state border. The operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Zelenskyy described the strike as part of a plan of “long-range sanctions” — retaliatory measures in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

“It is entirely fair to bring the war back to where it came from. Russia could have ended its aggression long ago, but it chose to prolong and continue it itself,” he said.

“I thank our SBU personnel for this result. It is important that, step by step, we are implementing our plan of long-range sanctions in response to everything Russia is doing against our country and our people. All types of our sanctions — legal and very practical long-range ones — are helping bring peace closer,” the Ukrainian leader added.
