Zelenskyy Arrives in the United States for Meeting With Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the United States, he said on social media. The official reason for the visit is the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham. Zelenskyy is also scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Already in the United States. The schedule includes meetings with President Trump, his team, and those who can support our defense. The number one priority is missile defense against ballistic threats and strategic cooperation with America. Peace must become closer.

Of course, on behalf of all of Ukraine, we will honor the memory of Lindsey Graham and, together with everyone attending the ceremony in Washington, remember his efforts in support of security and freedom in the Euro-Atlantic region and other parts of the world,” Zelenskyy said.

Last week, the Ukrainian president said he had spoken with Trump’s special envoys. The U.S. side is prepared to propose a new plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war. According to Zelenskyy, a trilateral meeting involving Russian representatives is also planned. However, the date has not yet been announced.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump is expected to take place in the Oval Office later in the day. The talks will be held behind closed doors and are scheduled to last 90 minutes.

Zelenskyy is also expected to meet with members of the U.S. Senate.
