The amount of the childcare benefit for children under the age of 3 will depend on the recipient’s income. Labor and Social Protection Minister Andrei Labovich said this following a meeting with Lukashenka.
According to the minister, specialists identified the most financially significant aspects for families at the time of a child’s birth, one of which is the childcare benefit for children under the age of 3.
“The government proposed that the head of state revise the approach to determining the amount of the childcare benefit for children under the age of 3. The amounts are currently the same for all benefit recipients and in practice do not depend on the recipients’ actual income. We propose changing this system and determining the amount of the benefit based on the recipient’s actual income. At the same time, the minimum guarantee currently in place will remain — the minimum level will not be lower than the current benefit amount. The maximum amount will be capped at the level of the average wage in the country”, Labovich said, according to BelTA.
