A company with Uzbek capital will be established in the Vitsyebsk region to engage in wood processing. It will be registered in the Vitsyebsk Free Economic Zone.
The investment will amount to $20 million. The company will initially focus on sawing and drying timber, followed by the production of particleboard and, later, joinery products, including doors, windows, baseboards and other wooden goods.
A meeting with a delegation from the Kashkadarya region was held at the Vitsyebsk Regional Executive Committee today. Two Uzbek agricultural enterprises are already operating in the region, in the Shumilinsky and Miory districts. According to Shakhriyor Khamzayev, deputy mayor of the city of Karshi, plans call for increasing their number to 10 and significantly expanding livestock numbers, to up to 20,000 head. To this end, the delegation will visit five more districts of the region in the coming days to assess sites for new facilities.
