Worker Dies At Belaruskali

Another workplace accident has occurred at Belaruskali. A worker has died. According to the company, the incident occurred on Aug. 17 at the mine of the second mining administration.

“During an inspection of the mine workings of the longwall, mining foreman Dzmitry Piatrovich was injured as a result of a roof collapse. The injured man was taken to the Salihorsk Central District Hospital, where he died”, the statement said.

A commission has been set up to investigate the causes and circumstances of the accident. Belaruskali expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

This is the second fatal workplace accident this month. In early August, at the mine of the fourth mining administration, 29-year-old worker Raman Tysevich, an electrical fitter (fitter) on duty and responsible for equipment repairs, died. He sustained a fatal injury while connecting an electrical cable to a scraper conveyor of a tunneling complex. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case over the worker’s death.
