Polish military forces have again recorded the entry of weather balloons from Belarus into Poland, according to a statement by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces.
“Last night, military radar systems detected new objects resembling air balloons entering Polish airspace from the direction of Belarus. The objects were continuously identified and remained under constant observation by military reconnaissance systems. The situation was under control and did not pose a threat to air traffic safety or to Polish citizens. The observed incidents did not differ from recent events reported near the Polish-Belarusian border,” the statement said.
Yesterday, the military and border guards also reported the entry of weather balloons, which were likely carrying cigarette contraband.
Recently, Poland’s Border Guard reported conducting a raid against smugglers, during which eight people were detained — four Lithuanian citizens and four Polish citizens. A total of 16 such detentions have been carried out since the beginning of the year.
