Voting in Coordination Council Elections Extended by 36 Hours

Following a recommendation from the election commission, members of the Coordination Council have extended voting in the elections by 36 hours — until May 19 at 12:00 Minsk time.

The Commission on Statute Issues has been authorized to make the corresponding amendments to previously adopted election decisions.

A total of 37 council members voted in favor of the extension, three voted against, and there were no abstentions. The quorum was 40 out of 59 members.

The following voted in favor:

  • “Latushka Team and For Freedom Movement” — 21 out of 28;
  • “European Choice” — 7 out of 7;
  • “Nasha Sprava / Belarusian Christian Democrats” — 2 out of 6;
  • “Independent Belarusians” — 2 out of 8;
  • “Stop Being Afraid” — 2 out of 3;
  • non-affiliated delegates — 3 out of 8.

The following voted against:

  • “Nastup” — 2 out of 8;
  • non-affiliated delegates — 1 out of 8.

There were no abstentions.

Voting Process

  1. Choose a list. Select the electoral list of candidates you want to vote for and click the “Vote” button.
  2. Verify your identity.
    • Using a standard Belarusian passport: Verification is conducted by the international company Sumsub. It is a global service operating under international data protection standards. Point your camera at the passport information page and then show your face to the camera for verification.
    • Using a New Belarus passport: The system will redirect you to the Belarusian Passport Center account, where you will need to confirm the transfer of your data to the voting system.
  3. Save your vote code in a secure place. You will be able to verify it on the company’s website.
