Ukrainian company Donbasenergo has filed a lawsuit seeking 547.47 million hryvnias (approximately $15 million) in compensation for Russian aggression from 65 Russian and Belarusian companies, Radio Svaboda reports.

The Belarusian defendants include Belaruskali, Belleseksport, Naftan, Omsk Carbon Mogilev, Real-Agent, Sodruzhestvo Trans-Agro and Transit-Avto 2003. Some of the defendants are under sanctions.

Donbasenergo owns the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant in Kramatorsk and the Starobesheve Thermal Power Plant. Its main shareholder is Energoinvest Holding. The company is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. Radio Svaboda notes that investigative reports by Ukrainian media identified Oleksandr Yanukovych, the son of Viktor Yanukovych, as the company’s actual owner in 2013. However, control of Donbasenergo later passed to other individuals.

Earlier this year, a court in Kharkiv ordered 58 Russian and Belarusian companies to pay more than $9 million to two Donetsk businessmen. The lawsuit involved the same defendants as the Donbasenergo case.
