Ukraine’s Armed Forces Complete Another Season of Operation “Vivaldi”

The Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has completed the fourth phase of Operation “Vivaldi”. Its commander, Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, announced this.

“We prevented the enemy from outflanking the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration and trapping it in a pincer movement, and we also protected the Kharkiv-Sloviansk highway. The enemy failed to cut off the key logistics artery serving our grouping in Donbas. We disrupted the advance of the West Group and forced it to redeploy some units of the 1st Tank Army, which eased the pressure on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi”, Biletskyi said in summing up the operation.

The operation began with the elimination of Russian infiltration attempts and developed into an offensive. During the fourth phase, three more settlements were liberated. According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, the Russian side lost around 3,000 soldiers, and 101 square kilometres of territory were liberated.

Over the entire course of the operation, Ukrainian forces regained control of 16 settlements and 277 square kilometres of territory. They estimate Russian losses at 8,000 personnel.

“Four seasons of ‘Vivaldi’ are complete. But the music continues”, the Third Army Corps’ press service hinted, suggesting the operation would continue.
