Since most public holidays fall on weekends, people will have to work more hours. The working time standards were established by Ministry Resolution No. 81 of October 6.
The standard for next year is:
- for a five-day working week — 2,024 hours per year;
- for a six-day working week — 2,019 hours per year.
Compared with 2026, the standard has increased by 26 hours for a five-day working week and by 12 hours for a six-day working week.
“The standard working time for 2027 was established on the basis of a full working week of 40 hours. For a five-day working week, it was calculated on the basis of an eight-hour working day from Monday to Friday, and a seven-hour working day on days immediately preceding public holidays. For a six-day working week, the calculation is based on a seven-hour working day from Monday to Friday, five hours on Saturdays, and six and four hours respectively on working days immediately preceding public holidays”, the ministry explained.
