Two Explosions Rock Area Near Hotel Hosting Macron in Damascus

Two explosions occurred near the hotel in the Syrian capital, Damascus, where Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, was staying.

By the time the explosions occurred, Macron had already left the Four Seasons hotel and arrived at the presidential palace for talks with Ahmed al-Sharaa, Syria’s transitional president.

One explosive device had been placed in a rubbish bin, while the second was planted in a car parked near the hotel, RFI reported.

Macron’s visit to Syria began on Monday. He is accompanied by a large delegation of French government officials and business representatives. Following his talks with the Syrian president, Macron is due to travel to Ankara for the NATO summit.
