Twelve Russian Citizens Detained In Poland For Border Violation Leave For Belarus After Sentencing

Polish border guards detained 12 Russian citizens who were illegally crossing the border by bus, the Polish Border Guard reported. After sentencing, all of them left Poland and travelled to Belarus.

The bus carrying the 12 Russian citizens was stopped for inspection by border guards in Sanok on March 31. None of them had documents entitling them to cross the Polish-Slovak border or stay in Poland. Border guards established that the foreigners held residence permits in Hungary and under the law should have been staying there.

All of them admitted to illegally crossing the border and received six-month prison sentences suspended for two years, as well as bans on entering the Schengen area.

“All of them have already left Poland for Belarus,” the press release said.

The bus was driven by two Ukrainian citizens who organised the transportation of the people. The court sentenced them to one year in prison, also suspended for two years.
