Belarus’ Ministry of Transport and Communications will introduce seasonal axle load restrictions on republican highways starting from May 25, 2026. The restrictions will remain in effect through August 31. Resolution No. 17 of the Transport Ministry dated May 5 was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.
During this period, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. inclusive, when daytime air temperatures exceed 25 degrees Celsius, the axle load of vehicles must not exceed 6 tonnes.
The seasonal restrictions do not apply to passenger vehicles, the transportation of certain cargoes including animals, wheeled agricultural tractors and others.
The resolution also approves a list of republican highways and sections where the seasonal axle load restrictions will not apply. These include the country’s main transport corridors, access roads to Minsk, the second Minsk Ring Road and the ring road around Mahilyow.
