Traffic Police to Step Up Checks on Minibuses and Motorcyclists After Series of Fatal Crashes

Belarus’ traffic police will step up road enforcement following a series of fatal traffic accidents over the past week.

On Friday and over the weekend alone, 29 road accidents were recorded in Belarus, leaving 10 people dead and 46 injured. A total of 12 people were killed in traffic accidents over the course of the week.

“To stabilize the situation, the State Traffic Inspectorate is strengthening road enforcement. Traffic police officers will focus on preventing serious traffic violations that most often lead to severe consequences. Particular attention will be paid to drivers of route minibuses and motorcyclists,” the Interior Ministry said.
