The Education Ministry reported that it has fulfilled this year’s admissions plan for state-funded places at Belarusian universities.
As of July 27, 32,000 students had been enrolled in the first year, including students admitted under targeted enrollment schemes and winners of university academic competitions.
More than 5,300 applicants were admitted without entrance examinations or outside the standard competitive process. They include winners of international and national academic Olympiads, recipients of gold and silver school medals, graduates of colleges with honors, graduates of the National Children’s Technopark (upon the recommendation of its Supervisory Board), winners of professional skills competitions, top-performing graduates of university-affiliated lyceums, and others.
Admissions have been completed at nearly all universities. The Interior Ministry Academy and the Mahiliou Institute of the Interior Ministry will enroll students on July 29.
Admissions for fee-paying students will continue until Aug. 1, and until Aug. 2 at agricultural universities. More than 16,000 fee-paying students are expected to be admitted.
Admissions to part-time programs at agricultural universities will take place from Nov. 15 to Dec. 5. The admission target is 1,200 students.
