Traffic Police to Inspect Taxis Across Belarus From April 6 to 10

From April 6 to 10, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct a nationwide preventive campaign aimed at improving the safety of passenger transport services provided by taxis.

The inspections are being prompted by unfavourable statistics: last year, 108 road accidents involving taxis were recorded, in which two people were killed and 113 injured.

Traffic police patrols will check compliance with road traffic rules, passenger transport conditions and the technical condition of vehicles. If violations related to allowing drivers or defective vehicles to operate are identified, the heads of organisations will be held administratively liable, the Interior Ministry warned.
